We are excited to have you here and look forward to exceeding your every water ski need. Please don’t be afraid to ask questions. If you have specific goals let your coach know.
Guests staying on site have access to all amenities including but not limited to SUP, lake kayaks, and any floaty. Please stay in designated swim area while boat is in operation. The lake is at your disposal sun-up to sun-down. Please take a leisurely walk around the lake, shop in our pro-shop, take a hot tub or sunbathe to your hearts content. After your ski rides relax in the Valensin Vineyards & Winery Tasting room and enjoy some of our PLUNGE local wine varietals. Wine tasting pricing and schedule will be posted.
Day guests who are not staying on site and are just purchasing ski rides, once your ski rides are completed we ask that you complete your time with us. Please take advantage of our Wine Shop and Water Ski Pro Shop as day skiers receive a discount.
If you already have all your own ski gear please put your ski in the ski rack on the south edge of our dock and your vest, handle, gloves on our hanging rack just above. We like to keep the dock area clear for all guests so when you are not using your gear this is the best place for it. If you have travel bags, ski bags etc they can be stored back in your room or vehicle if you are a day skier.
If you need to use some of our ski gear it is best to let us know when you first book your stay. When you arrive at dock let the coach know what you need as soon as possible so we can be sure to get it all set-up before your first set. We have skis, vests, handles to rent if needed. (See FAQ) We do not rent gloves, but we do have gloves for purchase onsite. If you are not sure what you may need please don’t be afraid to ask.
Want to try the latest and greatest? If you have your own ski gear but are interested in trying some of our great new products it is always best to let us know at the time of booking. Also upon arrival please let the coach know so we can have the proper size and model ready for your ride. Please leave binding installation or fin set-up to our staff. These skis are available for purchase so please treat them like you would treat your own ski. Guest staying with us receive VSR Pro Shop discounts.
YOUR SKI DAY STARTS OUT ON OUR DOCK. HERE ARE THE BASIC DOCK PROCEDURES SO YOU CAN IMMEDIATELY FIT RIGHT IN.
Our goal is to get our morning and afternoon rotations completed as efficiently as possible. We like to spend time with each skier during their rides and discuss technique and how best for you to get the most out of the VSR skiing experience. To accomplish this we ask all skiers to help us by being ready to go. Rotations should be discussed by the group before each session starts so everyone knows who they follow and when to be ready.
Skiers who are signed up for a full day session can expect 3 rides per day. We typically target an 8:00am start and conclude the morning session at 1pm. A 2-hour break follows the morning session. The afternoon session typically starts at 3:00pm with all skiing ending at 6pm each day. If time and group size permit, additional rides may be purchased by STAY guests for a cost of $50 each. Morning sessions are best suited for these additional rides if desired.
Each skier will start from the southwest corner of the dock. There is a carpet there to stand on and get ready. Skiers will not start from the boat. We prefer the skier puts the ski on while still on the dock. There will be soap there if needed for bindings.
To give each skier the attention they deserve we ask that guests not ask to ride along with coach and driver. This has a negative effect on the wake of the boat and can distract the coach from focus on the skier. Parents may ride to watch their child upon request. But we urge this be kept to a minimum. However, cheering for fellow guests from the dock is strongly recommended.
Each skier is responsible to be READY with all gear on when previous skier is completing their last pass. If you have your own handle please have the handle ready to pass to coach upon boat arrival.
Please get in the water off of the dock when instructed to do so. This will keep the process moving smoothly and allow the boat to make a smooth entry back to the dock. If you prefer a softer or firmer get-up please inform driver before your first start.
Our Islands may be new to some big lake skiers. IT IS SHALLOW close to shore and close to the islands. We ask all skiers FOLLOW THE BOAT PATH around the islands. If you stay in the middle of the boat wake around our islands you are always in the perfect spot.
We may spin the boat after each pass or drop skiers depending on your specific situation. The coach will let you know in advance what our plan will be for you. If we plan to drop you watch for the green buoys at the end of each pass, when the boat gets to them we ask that you lean out to your right (starboard side) and coast to a stop. We strongly recommend that new private lake skiers watch closely from the dock what others are doing on the pull-out. This will help you get a clear picture of how the process works.
Each skier set will include 6 passes (Beginners skiing at slow speeds may receive 4 passes as their passes are quite long) this will include skier falls. Coach will always inform skier when it is the last pass so the skier can safely ski to swim area at the end of that pass. Please don’t EVER ski near our dock. Ski to the swim area only. Never ski past our orange swim area buoys.
“Most importantly, please let me know if you have any questions or if there is anything I can do to improve your stay with us”.
